Mamerto de la Vara Wineries since 1940

We are a 100% family winery with almost 85 years of experience. Since 1940 and thanks to the dedication and effort of three generations, we have become specialists in the production and bottling of sweet wines, fortified wines, liqueur wines, vermouths, muscatels, mistelas and wines à la carte.

More than 80 years of reliability and proven professionalism make us leaders in the sweet wine sector in Spain, in terms of volume, quality and professional prestige.

Always maintaining an unbeatable quality-price ratio, our wines stand out for their excellence and quality, awarded in prestigious international competitions. A recent example is the gold medal received by one of our wines at the World Bulk Wine Exhibition in Amsterdam in November 2023.

In addition, we back our excellence with more than three decades of export experience, successfully delivering our products to more than 20 countries around the world.

OUR WINERY: INNOVATION WITHOUT LOSING TRADITION

Although we currently work at an industrial level, our wines continue to be as they were in the past; made with the traditional formulas of our family that have characterized us from the beginning.

Our winery located in Cheste, (Valencia) is in the center of a privileged region for the cultivation of the vine, especially for the Muscat of Alexandria variety, which determines the perfect framework for our elaborations.

In figures, the winery has facilities of 7.800m2 of which 3.100m2 correspond to cellars for winemaking, aging and storage and can hold more than 3.500.000 liters. The winery is also equipped with a cold stabilization plant with a capacity of more than 1 million frigories per day and a capacity of more than 1,250,000 liters in stainless steel tanks, as well as isothermal tanks and filtration and microfiltration systems.

Always committed to efficiency, the winery has an internal laboratory to speed up the process and guarantee an optimal service thanks to the qualified and specialized personnel in the sector.

It also has its own bottling plant with an automated bottling line with a capacity of up to 2,500 bottles/hour, an automated multi-format bag-in-box bottling line and a line for PET of different formats.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY

At our winery, we maintain a strong commitment to food safety and excellence in the quality of our wines. In line with this mission, we have recently achieved IFS Global Market Food certification. This international distinction establishes standardized standards for the verification of food safety and quality assurance systems, especially designed for suppliers of food products destined for private labels.

ACTIVITY / WINES A LA CARTE.

The bulk of our activity is based on the production of bulk wines, although we also bottle under our own brand. However, our distinctive feature lies in the elaboration of wines a la carte, that is, we develop wine projects with the customer’s brand.

The long trajectory, experience and good work that we have in the wineries of La Vara enable us to advise the customer and produce the type of wine you need and we can also serve it in bulk or in the most appropriate format.

We have a team of professionals who guide the customer in the creation of their own brand, as well as the most convenient format, whether in bulk, bottle, PET containers or Bag in Box.

In addition, our highly qualified team can advise the client about the options related to bottling for their brand, the client can choose the presentation and labeling format that is most appropriate for them. In this sense, we take care of the labeling for your brand, from design to compliance with current legal requirements, ensuring a comprehensive and personalized service.

WORK METHODOLOGY

We apply a work methodology based on the sum of five variables: Experience, market knowledge, adaptation to the needs of each client, excellence in production and unbeatable value for money.

In practical terms, our operational approach is broken down as follows:

1-Definition of the type of product the client wants.
2-Study of the case and preparation of a proposal.
3-Tailor-made wine elaboration
4-Adaptation of the production volume to the client’s needs: The wine is served bottled under its own brand or in bulk ready for bottling at destination.
